Glenn:

Welcome to the Toxic Truth About Water. We're Drs. Glenn and Ina, and in this podcast, we're uncovering the hidden dangers lurking in your water and how that impacts your health.

Ina:

After decades of exploring natural health, we've learned the importance of clean, safe water. And we're here to share that knowledge with you guys. Whether it's toxins, contaminants, or the solutions that you need. We've got the inside scoop. So let's dive in.

Glenn:

Absolutely. So here's the question, guys. Do you trust the water you drink? Really, we're exposed to water in so many ways. Do you trust it?

Ina:

It's a really good question. And this is something that is so important. It's so important that every single one of us know whether we can trust the water or not, because some people do. And some people don't. And some people are somewhere in the middle where they're just not really trusting it, but they're not sure why. So we're going to be taking a pretty deep dive. Wouldn't you say during this entire series, the toxic truth about water.

Glenn:

There were a lot of different. areas that need to be slowly deep dived into and we are going to do that with each different Session that we provide here.

Ina:

So let's talk a little bit about our background because some of the listeners I should say some of you guys have no idea who we are and some of you us for quite a while. So just to share a little bit, Glenn and I have been actually in the holistic health field since the late 1980s. That's a long time. We actually opened a holistic health center In the late 80s when the word holistic was very fringy. Like we were I'd say people

Glenn:

didn't even fully understand it. They knew it meant whole body,

Ina:

yeah. Now it's very, it's a common term people understand, but at the time, not so much. And we graduated from chiropractic school. We opened up a holistic health center. And we practiced chiropractic. I went on to get my master's degree in nutrition. So we offered various alternative methods of healing, whether it was in the chiropractic realm, nutritional. We had all kinds of other practitioners that worked with us at our center. And I would say from the time we started practice through all of these years, we've always been very concerned and always. searching and really trying to find solutions for the toxins that every single one of us are being affected by, right? So we did a lot of work with detoxification, a lot of cleansing and detox programs in our practice. And we've always, in addition to help people to support that process of releasing the toxins that are stored in ourselves, but also to help people prevent the toxins from entering their life. So whether it was for filtering water, purifying air, eating clean organic foods things to protect from The dirty electricity, shielding, we've always been into all of that through all these years and Probably I would say now more than ever We are deeply concerned we're not just doctors with a lot of experience and knowledge working with patients and our holistic community and All our you know people that we've known along the way, but I would say We are coming to you in this series as deeply concerned people, humans like you and really wanting to shed light, really wanting to enlighten, educate, and inspire to take action, right? Because once we know that We can't really unknow. And if we can also provide solutions for you guys, and we feel like we're helping to help all of us live a healthier and longer life, right?

Glenn:

Yeah, absolutely. And without trying to scare anybody, I just want to say, I honestly believe these are desperate times when it comes to water, it's one of the things that we're simply in contact with. all day and you don't even realize it. You're just constantly, it doesn't even have to be washing your hands or anything like that. Just things that have contacted water that now you contact.

Ina:

And this is really important. It's not just in the cup of water that we're drinking or the coffee that you made the water with, but it's in we're brushing our teeth, we're showering, we're bathing, we're washing our hands, we're going to restaurants and consuming their food and water, and eating the soup that they used whatever kind of water with. They're ice

Glenn:

cubes in your drink.

Ina:

Correct, yes. And then what about people who are conscious, and you go and you buy this beautiful organic produce, and you come home, And you wash it in, let's say, unfiltered water, right? So there, there's so much to this. And I just want to say, because I know a lot of you that would listen to a series like this, you're already quite health conscious, and maybe some of you are just starting on your journey, but I really want to start out. Let's just talk very briefly, cause I don't want to create doom and gloom, but just to bring the awareness that we are really in a serious health crisis. Wouldn't you say?

Glenn:

A hundred percent.

Ina:

There are so many people who just aren't well with heart disease, with diabetes, with, all kinds of neurological diseases. Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, early onset dementia. People are aging like crazy. There's so many people who have a lot of symptoms, a lot of inflammation in their body, right? And I can go on and on. People are depressed, they have a lot of anxiety, people aren't sleeping well, they don't have good energy levels, digestive issues. And it's our birthright. To have vibrant health, to be healthy, to feel amazing, and most people don't. And when we talk about why is that? We know that genetics play a role, certainly. We know that lifestyle choices play a bigger role, right? What are we eating? What are we, how are we abusing our bodies? Are we getting enough rest? Are we, does your printing too much? Does

Glenn:

your occupation somehow put you in an environment that is unhealthy for you? Yeah. Do you work with chemicals? Do you spray pesticides? Whatever, right?

Ina:

There's right lifestyle choices and those kind of situations. But that kind of leads into the biggest reason, which is the toxicity that every single one of us are exposed to, whether we work in a toxic environment or not, when we're exposed more so than others or not, because none of us. Are living in a glass bubble and we are bombarded by toxins in our air in our food from dirty electricity and certainly in our water. And in this series, we really want to unfold and uncover and, just really expose the toxins that are in our water.

Glenn:

Yeah. And wouldn't you say there's an emotional side to this? It's like people are scared. I really think that's what's happening that people and that's another thing we want to do is calm that down because when there's solutions out there, there's no reason to panic

Ina:

and you bring up such a good point Glenn because yes, there is an emotional side. People are Afraid, yeah, we worry about ourselves. We worry about our children, we worry about the world There's also a lot of anger people are angry. Like why is it that we have to worry about this stuff? Why isn't the air cleaner? Why isn't the water? clean enough And let's just talk about some of that, like just real briefly. And we're going to be diving in throughout the series and each episode, we're going to take deep dives into a lot of these different areas, but just so you guys understand, let's just start out. Okay. So water we need it for so much of our health. It's so important. 70 percent of our body is made of water. Even slight dehydration can lead to headaches and aches and pains and fatigue and hunger. Sometimes we think we're hungry, we're really thirsty. Most of us are not drinking enough water. And as a nutritionist, I always recommend it. Every single person should drink half of their body weight in ounces of pure plain water. So for example A 200 pound person should be drinking 100 ounces of plain, pure water every single day. Not the water in their coffee, not the water in their smoothie, just water. But the key is pure water, right? So let's just talk about that for a moment. So what's in the water? They treat the water pretty much when we have municipal water in our homes, if we're not on a well, that water is treated with chlorine and other disinfectants. And those are carcinogenics. cancer causing, we are going to talk about that. Biological contaminants. Bacteria, viruses, cysts, and those kind of things in our water. Now, in third world countries where they're not treating the water, it's much more rampant, right? But, there are infrastructure that's old, so there's leaks and there's cracks, and even after it's being treated and all those microorganisms are killed, by the time it gets to our home, perhaps not so much.

Glenn:

Logically, they can't, Redo the infrastructure. Obviously, we have like a million miles of piping underneath our land, and they can only handle where there's a breach, and kind of band aid.

Ina:

Correct. Because some of our pipes in our country are 40, 60, 80, 100, upwards of 200 years old. And so in order, like you said, they're not going to be going in and, putting all brand new pipes in, unfortunately that would be a nice thing, but that's not happening. So we have the biological contaminants, we have the chlorine and the other disinfectants that are carcinogenic we have the heavy metals. Arsenic, lead, mercury, cadmium, a lot of these are neurotoxins causing a lot of problems. We have all of the chemical contaminants, the pesticides, the herbicides from agriculture, all kinds of chemical contaminants and now the PFAS and the forever chemicals and we're going to take Deep dives into that. Because that's a whole subject in and of itself. That's very much in the news. And we want to really make sure that everyone understands that

Glenn:

forever. Chemicals, by the way, have been around for so long and they've been hidden. And now It's being broadly exposed because the dangers are horrific.

Ina:

Yeah. And it's just everywhere. And so we're definitely going to be talking about that. So there's also pharmaceuticals in our water. So we're, we're drinking water thinking, okay, we're hydrating our body. We're thirsty. We're cooking with it. And we're getting remnants of pharmaceuticals because not only are we dumping our prescriptions down the drain and it's getting into our. water supply, but we're also excreting hormones and they're finding fentanyl in the water. This is again, we're gonna, we're gonna get into all this. So we really want you guys to understand that what we're going to be talking about is so important and it impacts everyone. And we're just going to be sharing a lot of knowledge with you.

Glenn:

It's interesting because people have a misconception, like there's a source of pure water out there that's coming to their house from somewhere, a mountain or whatever, from the rain, whatever the truth is, there's virtually no totally pure fresh water available. Most of our country for sure. This problem is worldwide to a large extent. Other countries have the exact same problem, but the bottom line is we're exposed to this stuff. Every day in our waters and we need to know it and we're here. It's very important.

Ina:

So do you remember back in the day? Let's talk about back in the day for a moment. When we were kids and many of us, we drank from the hose, right? It was

Glenn:

normal.

Ina:

And I think for the most part, let's just be real. It was a lot purer then. But it wasn't as pure as we had hoped even back then. So

Glenn:

no, but nobody did anything to their water then. So the water coming out of your hose was probably the same water. That would come outta your sink.

Ina:

But let's talk about where you grew up.

Glenn:

Yeah. So when I was a kid, right back in the day when your parents sent you out to play, remember those when you didn't have little games in your hand to play, You didn't game on your tv. No. You watched the five shows that were available, on the. Four stations that you got until cable showed up and then life changed. But the bottom line was we played outside. So for me, I lived in an area with a lot of woods, a lot of pine barren areas of New Jersey. And so we had rivers and little streams that we used to go out in the woods and play in. One in my area was Seba Gayi. Center it was a big building that did some kind of chemical stuff that nobody really knew or talked about much when we were kids anyway,

Ina:

yeah, it

Glenn:

was seeba. Geigy That's what you knew He knew it was a chemical company and that was it but nobody like talked about chemicals in the way we know about them today. It just seemed to be like a little it was weird I want to say it was hush. They like didn't talk about Dangerous things back then. They tried to keep it on the down low. That's what I feel.

Ina:

And I still think that's the case, but now everything is so out open. We have

Glenn:

information channels that are much easier access.

Ina:

Now it's like it's all, it's hard to hide it. Transparency. Yeah. It's harder to hide access.

Glenn:

So yes. I used to play in these waters, right? We used to go and, we'd, we had a rope swing across it. We'd go in the water. They were like brackish. Brown watered, streams and we'd go in there barefoot. We'd, put on our bathing suits and swim in there. And then later on, we found out that Siva Gayaghi had in fact been dumping into that area and did dumping into that water. That was traveling because that water fed into what was called the Tom's River, which had, tributaries going all over throughout the town. And ultimately, there was like years later, it got uncovered that there was like pockets of cancer clusters.

Ina:

So we, Tom's River was considered the cancer cluster. And what's interesting is, so Glenn grew up in Tom's River. And then when we went off to chiropractic school. And when we moved, when we got married, we ended up back in close to Tom's River and then eventually built our home. In Tom's River before we started having our Children, and that's when we heard that Tom's River was the cancer cluster. Now, many of us have grown up in these areas where, oh, it was, this mining field or this chemical plant or whatever. For me, I grew up in a town kind of nearby called Jackson, New Jersey. And some of you may know of Great Adventure, that's what we were famous for. Six Flags. Six Flags. Yeah. It became called Six Flags. But in my neighborhood, I remember growing up, we moved to Jackson from Brooklyn. In 1970 we moved to our home in Jackson and there were so many people in our neighborhood That were diagnosed with cancer and you know when I think back and I'm just going to share this so You know, I really think that the issue becomes Who's exempt none of us? We are designed, our human bodies are resilient, resistant. We withstand so much, but you never know when we're going to have our tipping point. And we refer to it as, the straw that breaks the camel's back. You're going along and some of us really try to take good care of ourselves. We try to eat healthy. We try to eat organic foods. We try to hydrate our body well. We try to do the best with, filtering our water, purifying our air. We try to do all those things. And again, nobody's exempt. So it's when is that tipping point, right? And for me, and I think one of the reasons, and I think you would agree, babe, that We are more into this subject and getting it out there because of our own personal experience 100 percent so for I guess it was four years ago. I always lose track. I was diagnosed with lymphoma. And for those of you who are unfamiliar, lymphoma is cancer of the lymph system. And one day out of the blue, I felt a giant lump that felt like a lemon in my armpit. And long story short, diagnosed and talk about, feeling like the joke was on me because I was the one that was always Such a purist and really conscious and then I think back like what could have done that and Lymphoma is one of those cancers that are often related to environmental toxicity and being exposed to certain toxins and you know I really thought a lot about that through the years and again, I feel like We have to be proactive, right? And we have to do whatever we can to prevent the camel's back from breaking. Let's put it that way, right?

Glenn:

Just for a second, in your case, right? Lymphoma with the lymph system. That's a classic pathway that your body uses to try to detoxify itself. So one thing that it says to me, just Personally, this isn't guaranteed to be right, is that there's an accumulation of toxins to the point that created a problem in your body that your body can't even get rid of it, and that is becoming a problem, certainly not just for you, of course,

Ina:

There's so many people

Glenn:

that

Ina:

similarly you know, who maybe took really good care of themselves. Maybe not. But we know, we all know that it's becoming epidemic. It is scary and we're not here to scare anybody or paint

Glenn:

a doom and gloom picture. By the way, we're here to help.

Ina:

So this entire series is about becoming informed and we're not trying to alarm anybody. Although it's unsettling, we're here to lift the veil, right? We're just really here to lift the veil and we're going to be exploring in this series everything from contaminants to infrastructure to practical steps. We're going to bust a lot of myths,

Glenn:

right? There's a lot of myths, a lot of misconceptions, a lot of

Ina:

misconceptions, a lot of deception, a lot of corruption. And I think in every industry, but certainly we just want to share what we know from our heart. knowledge base and help you. So by the end of the series, you're going to have a clear roadmap. You're going to know what you can do to protect yourself, your family, the people you love and care about. You'll have
