Welcome to the Toxic Truth About Water. We're Drs. Glenn and Ina, and in this podcast, we're uncovering the hidden dangers lurking in your water and how those contaminants impact your health.
Ina:After decades of exploring natural health, we've learned the importance of clean, safe water, and we're here to share that knowledge with all of you. So let's dive in.
Glenn:All right, let's dive in by starting with what we've been talking about in the past episodes. We've been covering what's in our water, things to look out for, how they affect us.
Ina:the concerns that all of us should have and just the awareness of what we're all being exposed to.
Glenn:So now though, we're going to take a slight shift. We're going to move into what people are doing to enhance the water.
Ina:So there's like a broad term and it's becoming. popular. It's unbelievable how popular specialty waters have become. And it's pretty cool because, listen, we're all looking for, biohacks, right? How can we do more things to enhance our health? our vitality, our longevity, and if it's something we can do to our water to make it more absorbable, to give us various health benefits, then why not? As long as it's not harmful, first do no harm then we're all about it. So we just wanted to take today's episode to explore some of these different specialty waters, share some of the benefits, and really, what you may want to at least be aware of regarding this topic. So let's go.
Glenn:right. So let's start with general, restructured water. The idea here when people hear that term restructured water is actually looking at the way the molecules in the water. are clustered or held together and different things that you can do to change the way those bonds are make the water potentially more absorbable to the cells, therefore literally more hydrating
Ina:Exactly. So the bottom line with water, and we talked about this, in the very beginning and will continue to emphasize the importance of proper hydration and how much of our body is made up of water and we need to be hydrating in order to have optimal detoxification and blood flow and like all the processes in our body require proper hydration, but just drinking water in and of itself isn't necessarily the answer. Absolutely. ensuring proper hydration. So this type of specialty water, the benefit is that perhaps it's more hydrating. It's actually getting into the cell in a more effective and efficient way.
Glenn:some of the methods for creating structured water are simple Some of them happen naturally, and that's how I think these things have gotten discovered in areas where maybe, but things like a waterfall that might create as the water is coming down like a vortex, maybe something the way the rocks are formed, cause that water to spin in a circular motion as it goes down, vortexing water. actually appears to increase hydration or change the structure of water. That's one way.
Ina:So does magnetizing.
Glenn:magnets. That's become hot. Minerals are metals and they can be magnetic. They have a charge,
Ina:which is really, important to understand. And then certainly electrolysis is another way. So the benefits of restructured water in general, obviously, it enhances hydration. We all have this innate, amazing detoxification system already set up. We were born that way. However, we want it to work optimally. We want it to be able to get the toxins out, but we have to hydrate properly in order for the detox system to work at its best, at its most effective way. So increased detoxification is a benefit. So is better energy and vitality, which we're all looking for, obviously. So let's talk about another type of specialty water, which is ionized water.
Glenn:Ionized water has been treated with a device called an ionizer, which is simply using electrolysis, running electricity through water to separate it. And what it does is it separates into the acidic areas. Where we have acidic based pH water and base pH water
Ina:so it's more alkaline. It's either more hydrogen ions or more hydroxide ions to change it, like you said, from, more acidic or more alkaline. The alkaline water is often referred to as ionized water, and it is thought to have superior. properties in terms of antioxidants and its potential health benefits. So the antioxidant aspect of it is the claim to fame rich in antioxidants due to its higher concentration of hydrogen ions. And antioxidants, as many of us know, neutralize free radicals, which reduce oxidative stress. Oxidative stress is what's leading to disease, premature aging,
Glenn:inflammation, and cancer,
Ina:all the things that we're trying to avoid and reverse. The question
Glenn:what happens at that point?
Ina:All kinds of improvement, in terms of more energy, healthier body in general, so we're not here to debate, like we lean towards the side of beneficial in terms of,
Glenn:There's nothing So you win either way.
Ina:right so alkalized water it has a higher ph than regular Tap water,
Glenn:which is neutral.
Ina:so alkalized water is going to have a higher ph and with that We're going to have a better acid base balance, improved hydration, improved detoxification. So a lot of these specialty waters overlap in their benefits.
Glenn:They take the basic benefits of water and enhance them.
Ina:So we talked about, the restructured water, the ionized water, alkalized water, and then there's also hydrogen.
Glenn:It seems like everybody's walking around with their water bottles. You've probably seen them with the blue lights. And I know there's one particular company that's really popular. so again, people are putting their water in these Glass containers and then the containers pump hydrogen into the water,
Ina:They're infused. So the hydrogen water is actually infused with molecular hydrogen Which offers a unique set of potential health benefits So again, we talked about the antioxidants so similar here that it's going to produce a very powerful antioxidant effect, which is really what we want for sure. aside from the antioxidant power, we're also looking at reduced inflammation, improved exercise performance. a lot of athletes and fitness professionals swear by the difference with hydrogen water enhance mental clarity and focus. But again, remember proper hydration will do all this. This is just enhancing it. It's taking it to, another level. So all of these specialty waters, and again, controversial, you'll hear both sides of, Oh, it's great. Save your money. So we definitely believe that there's a lot of benefit to all of these specialty waters, but here's what we really want to emphasize. So there are different. Machines that you can purchase, to create, enhance the water, vortexers
Glenn:that,
Ina:It's actually this giant business. And we're sure, that some of these machines and some of these tools are better than others Quality, there's third party testing, there's more legit, less legit, So we have to weed through all that but the bottom line and what we really want to emphasize is no matter what The claim is first and foremost the water that we're going to take to become a specialty water needs to be Free of contaminant in order to truly get the health benefit ultimately right
Glenn:All of the devices and, techniques or systems that enhance water don't necessarily include filtration at all.
Ina:But we're talking about really making sure that All the forever chemicals are gone, and the microplastics, and the biological contaminants. Anything in the water that could tax your body, that could stress your body, we need to ensure that's not there before we're trying to take it to the next level of creating these. wonderful potential health benefits, If you're going to invest in one of these machines or devices, you really want to think with having your whole house. Filtered down to the point where you can have the peace of mind moving forward. And remember, it's not just what we're drinking and cooking with, but what are we brushing our teeth with, what are we bathing with, showering in. All of that makes a difference. But again, so important to make sure the contaminants are out first and foremost and then we can really appreciate and get the full value.
Glenn:Yeah, I couldn't agree more. Yeah. It's that simple.
Ina:And moving forward in the next few episodes, we're going to talk about the various ways that we can filter our water, what's out there, the good, the bad, the ugly, what works, what doesn't work, what's old technology, newer technology. We're going to get into all that in the next few episodes. Thank you guys. We really appreciate you tuning in. We want the information out there. We want the awareness out there because we do feel like it's just such an important awareness that we all need to have.
Glenn:So if you found value in today's episode, be sure to subscribe. Feel free to share the podcast if you enjoy it with your friends or family anybody you think that could benefit from this information
Ina:And by the way, you may not be enjoying the information. we are We're all in this together. Keep questioning, keep learning, stay healthy and stay informed. Much love to all you guys. We'll see you next time. Bye for now.
